Finished, Finito, Concluded, Complete!!!

Well if you guessed that we were doing something to our kitchen, then you were right! Wheeler pulled out the laminate counter tops and we had granite counter tops installed! We had one small hitch with the new sink because the original plumbing didn't line up with the holes in the new sink. Thanks Kim for sending your dad over to help us! Next, Wheeler and I tiled the backspash ourselves, with help from our neighbor Jody. Thanks Jody!! I love my new kitchen and can't stop gazing, staring, no, drooling over it!..... tell me what you think.

Here is an old before picture

Work in progress...

The finished product!! All of our hard work paid off. We extended the top of the island and added a leg and chairs so the kids have a sitting area to eat breakfast.
The tile we used was our second choice, the tile we wanted wouldn't come in soon enough and we didn't want to delay the project by another week.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thank you Kim for asking your Dad to come over to help us install the new plumbing in our sink. He was awesome, and did a fantastic job. You and your dad are the BOMB!

Plumber?? Anyone?? Please!

We need a plumber ASAP because I don't have a working sink in my kitchen. This is not good. Anyone know of a good plumber that can come on short notice....and not charge me an arm and a leg? I might be willing to sacrifice a finger or a toe. Wheeler is a good man, he just isn't a good plumber, and I need a good plumber. Help!

Remodel surprise......

This year, Wheeler surprised me with a special Valentines Day present. He has given me the go ahead to remodel something in our house. I'm so excited that I can hardly contain myself! The last time I can recall being this excited about something was when I bought my first brand new car....and that was about 12 years ago. I'll give you a hint....

Bling shoes!

I love buying cute shoes for Sugarbutt, mostly Lelli Kelly, but they are expensive and she out grows them so fast. So I've decided I can make cheaper shoes look just as cute as the expensive ones that I have been buying. I bought a pair of Pink Converse hightops for only $17 on ebay. Then I went to Hobbylobby and bought Swarovski Crystals and glue. Check out the shoes I made!!

This is how they started.

This is after I blinged them.

The next pair will be better because I plan to use a lot more swarovski crystals.

A much needed update.....

As usual, I haven't been keeping up with blogging. I'm going to try this again. Let me start by trying to bring you up to date. OK, so after Sugarbutt's bday we went to upstate New York for our summer vacation. We spent 3 weeks at Wheeler's family cottage on Cayuga Lake. We try to do this every year, and each year is even more fun than the one before!

The next big event was Monkey's 7th Birthday! This year his birthday party was held at Golden Strip skating rink. All the kiddo's had a blast, and the parents did too! Although, I still have a hard time accepting that he is already seven years old!

Right after Monkey's bday was Halloween! Monkey was a football player (funny story there) and Sugarbutt was a pink poodle, so cute! The plan was for Monkey to be a Pittsburg Steelers player (Wheeler's team) or a Dallas Cowboy player (my team). So I asked Wheeler if he would mind if Monkey was a Dallas Cowboy, and not a Steeler. Wheeler didn't care, so we left it up to Monkey. While looking at the player costumes online, Monkey saw the Bengal Tiger jersey, and that was that, he wanted to be a Bengal Tiger because he liked their uniform the best. I had never even heard of them before that day. Yep, that's me, big football fan! lol!

Wheeler's parents came to South Carolina this year to visit us over the Christmas holiday. It was so great to have them here. I filmed Christmas morning, and completely forgot to take any pictures. Fortunately, I did take a couple of pictures on Christmas eve!

There you go, that sums up the rest of last year. So now here we are, almost halfway into February and I'm just getting around to one of my New Years Resolutions. Yep, it's to blog a whole lot more! Better late than never, I always say!
